The vintage tiger figurine has beautiful glass eyes. During our research we were informed by Michael of Bertoia Auctions that he believes this tiger to be of French origin. It may possibly be German or possibly a Putz, but we are not certain. Michael also believes that this antique nodder tiger may be from the early 1900s. The glass eyes on this tiger seem to verify this time period. A nodder toy is similar to a bobble head toy today. The leg to the tiger was broken and has been glued back to a close original position. The tail was detached and has been nicely glued back into place. Soft material covers this antique paper mache tiger figurine. We are not sure what material was used. It could possibly be cotton or fleece matted down on the paper mache. Real fur may have possibly been used as this was often done to toys of this age (early 1900s). All the detail used in making this vintage paper mache tiger figurine is what makes it so unique. This paper mache nodder antique tiger figurine would make a G-R-E-A-T addition to any toy collection.
