This listing is for the Smoky the Bear Nodder. He was made in 1962, is part of the “Advertising” Bobbin Head set and stands 6 inches tall. Smokey the Bear first appeared in a Ad campaign on August 9th 1944 to prevent forest fires. A real bear cub was rescued after a fire in New Mexico and named Smokey by the fire fighters that rescued him. He lived out his life in the National Zoo in Washington DC and died in 1976.
