This listing is for a Gem Mint St. Louis Cardinal, baseball, with ball, MINI Bobbin Head/Nodder from 1962. They are available in two versions, one with a bat and one with a ball. His colors are bright and beautiful, he’s got the gorgeous Cardinal Bird Mascot Head. My friend Marty said this is the most beautiful nodder ever made and he especially likes it when they have all their feathers in a row. I never knew what that meant but I liked it nonetheless. The stumbling block on these guys are, once again, are the two decals and the back of his feathers on his head. For some reason the feathers always seem to be chipped. Well these two decals are perfect and securely fastened and in no need of any assistance and his feathers are also flawless and unmarked. This is easily the nicest Cardinal I’ve ever seen. Perhaps Marty was right, this may be the most beautiful of all the nodders. It always bugged me that the Cardinals eyes, on the larger nodder, look in slightly different directions. I never knew when he was looking at me. But that’s not the case with the mini Card. His eyes are actually looking in the same direction. It’s a once in a lifetime, he’s sixty years old and looks as good as new. This one does not have a box. But as I said, this guy is gem mint, no flaws or cracks, nothing wrong anywhere. They look beautiful, as advertised, but when subjected to your little black light test, BOOM, there it is. Without the aid of that black light, I couldn’t tell which of my Black Faced Phillies had been restored. They are both beautiful, and shiney, and mint, and have vibrant colors. But when the black light hits it, there are your spots of color that someone painted on. And you know what? They belong to you. You may certainly fix them up, paint them up, cover up a nick, scratch, pin hole, whatever, to your own choosing and preference. Feel free to do whatever you like. But the problem now lies, if and when you should decide to sell them. Because now you have an obligation to at least share this. It works both ways. I don’t mind owning and displaying mint nodders in my personal collection that have been professionally restored. Don’t mind it one little bit. But it’s far easier for me to sell the mint ones that have NEVER been restored. That’s what I specialize in. Yes they’re very expensive, I don’t deny that. That’s why I have them. The rest of the dealers aren’t willing to pay as much as I do. But what I have is MINT and I have a ton of them. So perhaps I’ll list those for a while and take a break from the GEM MINT items. This listing is for a Gem Mint St. Louis Cardinal, baseball, with bat, MINI Bobbin Head/Nodder from 1962. They are available in two versions, one with a bat and one with a ball. I believe the bat to be far more difficult to locate but no price guide, that I’ve ever seen, notes a difference in the price. His colors are bright and beautiful, he’s got the gorgeous Cardinal Bird Mascot Head. My friend Marty said this is the most beautiful nodder ever made and he especially likes it when they have all their feathers in a row. I never knew what that meant but I liked it nonetheless. The stumbling block on these guys are, once again, are the two decals and the back of his feathers on his head. For some reason the feathers always seem to be chipped. Well these two decals are perfect and securely fastened and in no need of any assistance and his feathers are also flawless and inmarked. This is easily the nicest Cardinal I’ve ever seen. Perhaps Marty was right, this may be the most beautiful of all the nodders. It always bugged me that the Cardinals eyes, on the larger nodder, look in slightly different directions. I never knew when he was looking at me. But that’s not the case with the mini Card. His eyes are actually looking in the same direction. It’s a once in a lifetime, he’s sixty years old and looks as good as new. This one does not have a box. But as I said, this guy is gem mint, no flaws or cracks, nothing wrong anywhere. This vintage collectable was made in Japan in the 1960s. This adorable Cardinal comes standing on the rare diamond base and is wearing a blue cap.
