3 Barbies – One Bubblehead, Two Ponytails. Please review pictures and my following notes. On his behind it is stamped. Ken 1960 By Mattel Inc Hawthorne, Calif. He has Blue eyes & brown eyebrows. Painted dark brown hair with a few small rubbed out spots. His legs seem to be slightly darker than his body and one arm is lighter. There is some red color on the bottom of his left foot. MORE PHOTOS UPON REQUEST!! I will let you be the judge as to which Barbie this is, I DO know she is old. I know very little about Barbie dolls so please look at pictures to confirm what I mention. I was limited to only 12 photos. I cannot make out what is written on her bottom. Paten (the rest is blurry). (the rest is blurry) By Mattel Inc. On the other cheek it has the number 8 on it. Her hair is a tight Bubblecut. Her lips are NOT red but a soft, pale, pink color. She has red fingernail polish. Her limbs are tight and hold a pose. She has JAPAN written on the bottom of one foot. I believe this one may be a “White Ginger” – It appears different than the Ash Blonde in pictures I have reviewed on the Internet. PLEASE review photos and you be the judge! Her eyes are what I would call deep turquoise with eyeliner a bit lighter. She is still wearing her original earrings. And has what I discovered is called “green ear” Here is a link on how to remove this. I have not attempted to clean this. Just like rare coins I know better than to try to clean them. I will leave this up to the experts! She seems to be in VERY GOOD Condition but needs some cleaning. Vintage Ponytail Barbie Doll. The Ponytails were the first Barbies Mattel made and they were produced from 1959 – 1964 This Barbie Doll maybe one of the Rare 1960, #3 Ponytail dolls. PLEASE LOOK at my photos and you be the judge! On her bottom it reads. MCMLVIII By Mattel INC. O On one butt cheek there is a 8 7. Her hair is in a ponytail. She has blue Irises and gently curved brows. Her skin tone has faded to a pale to an ivory color. She has JAPAN written on one foot. This one is different than the other two Barbies. On her lower back it says. Her arms and legs are different material than her body. Her body is hard plastic and her legs and arms are more rubbery. She has LONG Blonde hair that is in a ponytail, do not know if previous owner did this or if this Barbie is supposed to have it down? Her eyes are blue with gray eyeliner and black painted eyelashes. Some white shows (teeth) in her smile. She has a pale orangey pink lip color. She has no fingernail polish. She has a smudge mark on her left cheek. I bet this would come off easily. On her left ring finger there is a whole, most likely for a ring. There are molding lines that go from under her feet up the back of her legs and seams up her center front legs. Her shoulders are different than my other two Barbies. They look like there is a sort of tab thing at the top of the shoulder adjoining to body? THERE ARE MORE CLOTHES NOT PICTURED. These clothes did not have a Barbie tag in them. #750 Striped Beach Jacket red & white terry cloth (1962)?? Dirty collar Gray Dress Pants with front zipper and snap front Tan Pants with front Zipper Black Felt Jacket with Chiffon Red Rose on Lapel – missing one button Colorful Socks 3 pairs of shoes. On front and back side. INC Ponytail Pictures of Barbie and Ken. In very good condition especially for being so old. It does not have any tears but does need a good cleaning. There are two accessories drawers, (1) for Barbie and (1) for Ken’s. Their names are on these. One side of the inside case is pink and one side is blue. On both sides on top there is a bar for their clothes to be hung up on. All Dolls appear to have been played with. 4 pairs of shoes. 12 single shoes (missing their mates). 2 pairs of sun glasses, 1 – white, 1 – black. 1 Rotary telephone – White – the string is broken. 2 necklaces – one is just a. Broken string with white “pearls” on it. 3 Pairs of Shoes. 1 sandal (mate is missing). I know that someone would really like these rare items! I will answer the best I can… I know very little about vintage Barbie items.
