For sale is a Dallas Texans bobblehead. It’s a very nice bobble, still attached to the spring. The bobble was bought from a collector. I don’t know much about it (honestly I thought it was the Houston Texans at first lol) it’s really nice and vintage. Has some scruffs some paint chips on side of neck, I haven’t noticed any cracks. This is an ORIGINAL, vintage bobble / bobbin’ / bobbing head nodder. It is made of a chalky / plaster / ceramic / paper mache / composition material. This football player has a state of Texas decal, on either side of his helmet. The front of the base is marked: TEXANS. He represents the A. Team, the Dallas Texans. The team, founded by Lamar Hunt, only played in Dallas for 3 years: 1960, 1961 & 1962. Shortly after the 1962 season, the team moved to Kansas City, Missouri and became the K. CHIEFS, who merged with the National Football League (NFL) in the late 1960’s or early 1970’s. THIS figure was made during the team’s brief stay in Texas – PRIOR to 1963. It measures 6 & 3/4 inches tall. The overall condition is FAIR to GOOD. Grading can be subjective. Please read the description, look at the photos and grade for yourself. The only significant flaws, are the 2 cracks on the helmet. One located near his right cheek, the other located on the back / left side. Both helmet decals are nice, with a bit of yellowing. There is a crack IN THE SURFACE PAINT ONLY, just over his right eye. There does not seem to be any damage to the BODY of the player or BASE. It still displays VERY nicely, as it is. NICE very rare original 1962 vintage DALLAS TEXANS AFL AMERICAN FOOTBALL LEAGUE bobble head doll. Stands 6.75 inches tall. Looks like nice original paint. It does have a chipped out spot at back of neck. There are two cracks to base of head to left side of helmet and a hairline crack to base of head at right side of helmet. Some chipping wear around the underside of head that does not show. There is a faint hairline crack to top of helmet that appears superficial. Like i said it displays beautifully since the flaws are confined to areas that do not readily show. A fine addition to your bobble head doll collection.
